Sample Itinerary
Day 1 US/Belize City/Indian Creek Lodge
Arrive at Belize City International Airport and transfer for the afternoon Tropic Air flight south, to Indian Creek Lodge. Groups of four or more, fly directly to BLE’s private airstrip at Indian Creek Lodge. One to three guests fly into Punta Gorda for the half-hour ground transfer to the lodge. Spend the next two days exploring this unique region.

Day 2 Maya Past & Present of Southern Belize
Spend a full day touring remote archaeological sites and visiting the largest indigenous Maya population in Belize. Nim Li Punit (Big Hat) a small but significant site with many carved monuments including the second largest in the Maya World. Then off for a journey through traditional Maya Villages on the way to Lubanntun (Place of Fallen Stones), a major trading center for the region and in ancient time producing large quantities of Cacao (chocolate). Lunch. After touring the site we head by road to Blue Creek Cave for a cool afternoon swim and tour of the ecological reserve run by the local Maya.

Day 3 Wildlife Center/Golden Stream/Jungle Camp Lodge
In the morning visit Ballum Na Lodge (House of the Jaguar) that includes our jaguar exhibit and Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Take a mountain bike ride or nature walk on one of our many trails in the area. Lunch. Afternoon departures for Jungle Camp Lodge, from Fig Tree Landing where you and your Maya Guide begin the 3-hour canoe or kayak expedition deep into the southern Belizean jungle and down the pristine Golden Stream.

Day 4 Jungle Tour
Awake in the middle of the jungle, truly away from it all. Take an early morning and late afternoon foot safari, or canoe the Golden Stream and side creeks looking for birds and wildlife with local Maya bush guides. Go up in our tree platform. After dinner take a short night walk and then set out by electric boat on the river watching with spot light for the many mammals and bird species on the jungle.

Day 5 Jungle Camp Lodge to Moho Cay Lodge
In the early morning head down river by electric boat for the coast watching for the many mammals and bird species on the way. Near the coast transfer to our marine boat for the half-hour ride out to Moho Cay Lodge located within the Port Honduras Marine Reserve. Lunch. After lunch relax on this beautiful island paradise.

Day 6 Port Honduras Marine Reserve & Snake Cays
Full day excursion to the Port Honduras Marine Reserve, first head to Middle Snake Cay, for a morning of swimming and snorkeling. Back to Moho Cay Lodge lunch. In the afternoon explore the many cays and mangrove coastline where the elusive manatee can sometimes be spotted, great birding, watch for Morlet’s crocodile and sea rays.

Day 7 Moho Cay Lodge/Belize City International Airport
Depart in the morning by our marine boats for the 20 minute trip to Punta Gorda. Board the Tropic Air flight to Belize City International Airport and the flight home or on to another destination in Belize.
